When most people think of plastic surgeons, they do not normally think of them doing much outside of their practice. Things like being a media correspondent, writing a book, and donating time and money to philanthropies, or being an all-around Southern girl. Yet, despite stereotypes, this is exactly who Dr. Jennifer Walden from Austin has become.

She grew up in Austin, having graduated from Anderson High School. Upon graduation, Dr. Walden attended the University of Texas to obtain her bachelor’s degree in Biology and then went on to apply for the doctoral program. Although she was originally waitlisted, she ended up graduating salutatorian.

After graduation, Dr.Walden went to Manhattan Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital on an aesthetic surgery fellowship. After the fellowship, she stayed on with the Hospital for another seven years. During this time she helped work on a clinical trial that brought the reintroduction of silicone breast implants.

She moved back to Austin and opened a practice in 2011, with another practice opening in Marble Falls, Texas in 2015. She has been noted as “One of the Best Plastic Surgeons in America” by American Way during 2015 as well. Her operations continue to innovate as they come up with technologies used both in their offices and nationwide.

In addition to the hard work she has put in making her practice one of the most technologically advanced in the nation, Dr. Walden also gives to programs such as Food in Tummies (FIT) a program designed by the Junior League of Austin to provide meals over the weekend for students that qualify for the free or reduced food program. In June 2006, she spent time in El Salvador, helping young patients achieve a normal life by fixing problems such as cleft lip and deformities on their bodies. Helane Morrison is one of San Francisco’s most accomplished female attorneys. She has been serving the Securities and Exchange Commission in different capacities since 1996.
