Founder of P3 Executive Consulting, LLC, Susan McGalla was born and raised in East Liverpool, Ohio along with her two older brothers. Her father was a football coach that raised her to be tough. She attended Mount Union College where she received a bachelor’s degree in business and marketing. In 1986, McGalla began her career working in various managerial positions at Joseph Horne Company. Later, she became a divisional merchandise buyer for women’s clothing with American Eagle Outfitters. McGalla worked her way up to becoming the company’s president and chief merchandising officer (CMO) from 2007 to 2009, in which she oversaw the launch of American Eagle’s lingerie and intimate apparel line, aerie along with their 77kids line. McGalla credits her successful rise at American Eagle for paving the way for a “true culture change where women and men alike constructed what was one of the most successful, aspirational corporate cultures in the time frame of 2000 to 2010.”
Since working for American Eagle, McGalla’s hard work and expertise has given her the opportunity to pursue her passion and change careers by becoming one of the top private consultants to companies in finance and retail. She gives corporations advice on various business aspects such as branding and marketing. Currently, McGalla is Vice President of Business Strategy and Creative Development for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Along with her current titles and achievements, McGalla sits on the board of Trustees for the University of Pittsburgh. She is also a part of the council for the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute while being the director of the Allegheny Conference on Community Development.
