NuoDB is a nationally recognized SQL database company founded in Cambridge, Massachusetts in 2008. In was co-founded by Jim Starkey and Barry Morris, the latter of whom became NuoDB’s CEO. In 2011 NuoDB filed a patent for its unique innovation “elastically scalable database.” 2012 was a big year for the company with it receiving $12 million in venture capital. It was so successful by 2014 that Boston Business Journal and Mass High Tech listed it as on their annual list of Innovation All Stars.
In 2015 Barry Morris, who was still the presiding CEO, became the company’s executive chairman. The vacant CEO position was assumed by Bob Walmsley who had been the executive vice president of sales and services. The brand of SQL of NuoDB is viewed as so incredibly innovative that it is known as NewSQL. Girded with this variety of SQL database, the leadership of NuoDB are extremely optimistic about the company’s future.
