Fashion and Technology have considerably evolved immensely over the years. One man stated that these exciting changes are actually synonymous; that the growth and change of one is actually infused with elements of the other. This man is Christopher Burch.
Christopher Burch is the founder and CEO of Burch Creative Capital. This is a company that is built on the values of his entrepreneurship principles as well as his perception of the latest needs in the market. He also strives to have a long-term effect on the lives of consumers by creating productive businesses.
He has over 40 years of success in the investment and entrepreneurial world and has been a part of the growth and success of over fifty growing companies.
In regards to Christopher Burch’s view on technology and fashion, we see a change in technology that involves music. From the boom box to the iPod, which is considered quite fashionable in this day and age. Anouk Wipprecht, a Dutch fashion designer who blends fashion and technology, believes in the infinite possibilities of technology. Examples of her designs include the Daredroid and Pseudomorphs.
Future-oriented technological fashion designs have been created for safety as well. These include the Anna Haupt and Terese Alstin Airbag for Cyclists, which will prevent head injuries. Ashwin Rajan and Kevin Cannon have also come up with Frontline Gloves. These aid in communication of firefighters in fire scenes.
Recycling has also been installed in fashion technology. SegraSegra uses recycled material from bicycles to bring this forth with their jackets and t-shirts. Emma Whiteside reused radiator copper to make a gown.
Technology and fashion have also been implemented in the generation of energy. This is done by using movement which can be converted to electrical energy. Some of the designers working on this include Soledad Martin who is creating a shoe prototype that charges a cellphone while running or walking.
Fashion and technology also need each other to grow. An example of this is seen in the case of Google Glass. Diane von Furstenberg helped ease the stigma of wearing glasses by including the glasses on the model’s cat walking.
This move should help Google Glass get some recognition among people as the latest trend and style. We, therefore, see that fashion is useful in the growth of technology. One needs the other to succeed as well as be functional in the long-run.
