OSI Industries Is Expanding Into Europe

The acquisition of Baho Foods and Flagship Food Group are a significant advance for the OSI team. The company was looking to expand its presence in the European region and needed the form relationships in order to accomplish the task. Baho Foods and Flagship Food Group are both excited to join forces with an international, multi-billion-dollar company. These resources will help the European partners open more doors to expand their own companies.

Baho Foods has a working business model that compliments OSI’s objectives according to company CEO David G McDonald. They are looking to work with the leadership at Baho Foods to create a dynamic that will allow both organizations to move forward. Baho Foods has five other subsidiary companies that will be of great use to OSI Industries. The new partner already provides service to customers in 18 different European countries. Executive leadership will remain in place and work together with OSI Industries leaders.

Flagship Food Group is another European acquisition made by OSI that is expected to be a tremendous resource. The company provides Oliver James pies, mayonnaise, dressings, sauces and frozen poultry throughout the United Kingdom.

OSI Industries has made acquisitions in the United States as well. The purchase of Tyson Foods saved hundreds of jobs as the company was looking to close its doors. The purchase was made for 7.4 million dollars and will keep the long-running Chicago food manufacturer in place. There were an expected 480 jobs to be lost had the closure happened. OSI was able to save these jobs and also offer lateral movement positions for employees at Tyson Foods with OSI Industries.

OSI has a diverse business platform that has evolved over many decades. The company began as a family owned business in the early 1900s and eventually became the primary supplier of meat to the McDonald’s organization. They now manufacture several different food products including vegetables, poultry, pizza, fish, bacon, hot dogs and meat patties.

There are plants throughout the United States, as well as the Asia-Pacific. OSI Industries was ranked by Forbes as the 58th largest privately owned company in America in 2016.
